I started my career at the age of 16, starting a music group with friends from high school. At the time our band was called "Metyss Tahiti" and we broadcast our first song in on local radio stations.

Subsequently, the group broke up, some preferring to take different professional paths while I wanted to devote myself to music. For me, it's always been a passion: I've had this since I was little and I can't live without it.

Music is with me every moment of my life. So with one of my colleagues I went to France in order to make contact with us.

Together we continued to record for a few years. And in , my solo career started. I had the chance to meet Nicolas Neidhardt, producer and composer who worked notably with M Pokora and Jenifer.

It was on this project that I met my wife, Serena who I've worked with ever since! This headline, when sent to Tahiti, quickly went viral. In a few weeks, he took part in all the tamure marathons Tahitian dance marathons and ranked No. The success was explained by the fact that with this music I had created a new movement called "tahitian pop".

It was international pop but with Polynesian instruments: percussion, ukulele… and Tahitian language! Finally I created my own stream, music that looks like me. I love modern and traditional music, I love Tahitian dance and I didn't want to choose so I mixed it all up!

And it took. If you are sincere in your project and your music is true to what you are, it can only work because people will feel that sincerity. This is how I broke through Polynesia. But in France, the success has not been the same. We became producers and that's how we co-produced my first album "Tahitian Boy", in with Nicolas Neidhardt directing most of the tracks. Then I kept releasing one single a year and my notoriety continued to grow.

Then in , thanks to connections in my network, I started working with Bertrand Louis manager of Boulevard des Airs and co-editor of Vianney. The resulting split with Charmers left him unable to consolidate his crossover success, and he recorded only sporadically over the next few years.

When Trojan returned in , Boothe and Charmers reunited for a few more recordings including Blood Brothers and Who Gets Your Love , but couldn't match their earlier success, and again went their separate ways. Boothe returned to the studio from time to time during the '80s, releasing the occasional single and often re-recording his Studio One material.

A double-disc overview of his Trojan years, Crying Over You, was released by the label in Open App. Ken Boothe , monthly listeners.
