Where is wailing caverns located
Comment by Another reason that many leather-wearers come is for the armour of the fang Although it takes a very long time to get it Comment by chentauren the set of wc is embrace of the viper recomended to druids and shamans. Comment by For me it took 23 runs, and now I've got all Fang Set. Good place for twinking a rogue or hunter. Comment by Should i go there with lvl 15? Tauren Shaman. Comment by Wailing Caverns can be a gold mine if your lucky.. Comment by I have just boosted friend im lvl 65 holy paladin and he is lvl 18 warrior and we have collected whole set of the fang in only one run :D to bad he is not a hunter :P.
Comment by calvin90 this dungeon is popular for the druid or hunter set known as Embrace of the Fang" , this set can last till about lvl 30 if u dont get anything better than that set.. VERY good.. We wiped once when we aggroed a second group aside from that Verdan was the only real challenge he just hits too hard for us to deal with. The first is Lady Anaconda. Have your high level kill the raptors, crocodiles, and roaming druids to allow you to go forward into the ditch.
Make sure the ditch is cleared both left and right of crocodiles and oozes. Have your high level go run around the level above you to Lady Anaconda. She can spawn in about 3 locations but they are all close to the ditch. Just move left or right in the ditch to get as close as you can and have the friend kill her and loot the drop to you. Next boss is Lord Cobrahn. Go West or as you enter the ditch Left down the ditch killing a crocodile or two. You will come to a large room with a croc or two in it.
Kill them. There will be a winding path up to Lord Cobrahn. Have your friend run up the spiral to him and stand with his back to the cliff facing Cobrahn. You move directly below him hugging the cliff wall. Now he attacks and pulls Cobrahn over to the cliff edge he will probably be in Serpent form by that time and kill him. He loots the drop to you. The last boss is Serpentis.
As stated above you can head back to the entrance area or head to where the "bail off well" is located. See the Lord Serpentis comments for the exact spots to stand Have your friend kill him and master loot to you. Don't mind the big turtle Kresh as he wanders in the ditch unless you need a nice shield which he drops. Wailing Caverns is one of the few instances which can be master looted so easily. The other that comes to mind is the rare spawn undead warrior in Shadowfang Keep which can be looted from the instance portal.
Comment by The "escort" to the final boss Mutanus the Devourer is kinda annoying. You would think that the NPC would like to rescue the sleeper fast, but nooo.
When getting boosted that part feels like its taking as long as the whole instance did. I have also experienced Mutanus the Devourer not emerging from the water, hence all trouble for no boss. Not sure if Blizzard has sorted this bug out yet, but it has happend twice for me and a few more times for a couple of friends. Last two visits he has emerged as usual so hopefully Blizz has sorted this little bug out. This is not to brag or anything, just to show what is possible.
Im sure its possible with even fewer people and lower lvls. I recommend you who have played wow for a while and have highlvl mains, to reroll new alts with some friends and lvl in instances with people. Comment by I 'did' this at lvl 18 with only my big brother well, he's lvl 70 priest Was really fun altough I actually just followed him around Comment by do you have to kill all Druids in Wailing Caverns to get the final boss? Comment by AzurePai It's also Mutanus you need to kill in order to get the accompanying achievement.
Comment by Like above comments says, this is the instance that lowbies will be the new hope for raids. They learn their classes role, and how to group, how to roll for items, etc. Also can be the most funnest experience for lowbies. People come back with a great amount of loot, and a great amount of pleasure, and a great amount of experience. Run this instance. Comment by I have seen quite a few dungens and WC is still the funnest and most atmnospheric of all, plus it has great twink gear for all levels.
Comment by Inekadam WC is the ultimate profession leveler at low levels. Also, looking for a group to WC will involve Barrens Chat.
Mostly people will fail to see each other's LFG messages because of the intense mankirk's wife,"northwatch hold is too hard zomg" "5 rare elites coming to taurajo" "wheres kranal fiss" talks. Comment by When i went throw WC I found some nice shields. I've only gotten these items when I solo could some one tell me what to do with them. Comment by Kresh is on the wrong point in the map hes on the complete left in the beggining of the tunnel to Lord Cobrahn.
Comment by Fenrari If you couldn't tell, the cave entrance is a skull. Comment by Ok not sure about this but i ran this last night and killed everything in site, and for some reason the Disciple of Naralex would not start the escort quest. Is this bugged or am i missing something? Comment by kv83 This is not true. Wailing Caverns has nothing todo with the demi-god Agamaggan. The instance you are thinking of is Razorfen Downs. The entrance of this instance is not supposed to be a skull.
Dubbed the 'Wailing Caverns', these natural caves were filled with steam fissures which produced long, mournful wails as they vented. Naralex believed he could use the caverns' underground springs to restore lushness and fertility to the Barrens - but to do so would require siphoning the energies of the fabled Emerald Dream. Once connected to the Dream however, the druid's vision somehow became a nightmare. Soon the Wailing Caverns began to change - the waters turned foul and the once-docile creatures inside metamorphosed into vicious, deadly predators.
It is said that Naralex himself still resides somewhere inside the heart of the labyrinth, trapped beyond the edges of the Emerald Dream. Even his former acolytes have been corrupted by their master's waking nightmare - transformed into the wicked Druids of the Fang. Comment by Easily solo-able with a well played hunter Comment by Yes indeed. My friend ran it on his 80 pally which is nice because the AOE from Consecration and Divine Storm basically 1 hit everything and I went through on my druid.
Got so many leather pieces in there that kick ass. Comment by This dungeon wasn't worth the achivement and wasn't hard at all, but only because my level 71 feral druid and my friend's who shares this WoWHead account with me level 66 unholy Death Knight did it alone and it only took 5 minutes, hehe.
We just pulled the whole dungeon and took them all out. Also save a [ Kick ] , shock, or [ Counterspell ] for their final heal. The same technique can be used to fight each of the Leaders of the Fang. Deviate Shamblers later can cast regeneration on themselves, purge utterly counters this. After Lady Anacondra, you can either go to the east or west along the river. Jump down into the water and head west.
Somewhere along this river, you'll meet a turtle called Kresh. He wanders around in the waters that run through the dungeon. Kresh is a non-aggressive turtle and no tougher than any of the normal elite mobs. Killing Kresh is not necessary to complete the instance, and you can ignore him.
Climb the circuitous path up from Kresh's pool. Once you have traveled up the path you will find yourself in a big room filled with random monsters. Just follow the path and clear the monsters. Most of them are easy to kill, but be careful of additional monsters who wander around. After defeating the monsters you will find Lord Cobrahn , another one of the four Fanglords. Lord Cobrahn may drop [ Robe of the Moccasin ]. In the same area you will find Lord Pythas , another one of the 4 Fanglords.
Pythas is the toughest of the Leaders of the Fang. He puts out a lot of melee damage, and he has a lot of hitpoints. Jump off the cliff, you'll return to the main room and go east. The Deviate Faerie Dragon is a rare mob you may encounter in this area. Not difficult, drops nice caster gear, but appears rarely.
Odds are good that you will never see him unless you enter the instance repeatedly to hunt for him. The next optional boss along the path is " Skum ", a big old thunder lizard. Skum generally won't cause you any serious problems himself, but in addition to the two druids guarding his pen, there are usually a number of other druids, dreadfangs, and oozes nearby, which you may want to remove before killing Skum himself.
Skum drops a semi-good dagger, [ Tail Spike ] , or a high agility cape, [ Glowing Lizardscale Cloak ] so if you have any rogues or hunters you may as well drop him. Eventually you will find a big room with " Verdan the Everliving " and " Lord Serpentis ". Serpentis is a very standard melee fighter for the most part, with less hit points than Pythas. Kill any of the random mobs around Serpentis first, don't let him get past your tank s , and don't get near and aggro Verdan the Everliving, and you should be fine.
Verdan the Everliving on the other hand is a very different story. Killing Verdan is optional, he is not the object of any quest. After you've killed all four Leaders of the Fang, go back to the entrance and speak with the tauren druid Muyoh to start the Naralex event. You'll have to escort the Muyoh through a path of mobs to wake up Naralex. Even if you cleared the path, there are two set points along his path at which mobs will spawn; dispatch them when they appear.
None of these are particularly difficult. When you reach Naralex, Muyoh will begin to wake him. You must continue to protect the Disciple while he wakes Naralex. A few waves of mobs spawn, serpents, then slimes, that can be easily dispatched. You get enough time to eat and drink between waves of mobs, if everyone stays on the island and deals with the current wave quickly enough.
The last spawn is the boss Mutanus the Devourer , a huge murloc. Notify me of new comments via email. Notify me of new posts via email. Route: Run back to the beginning of the dungeon and start the escort quest speak with Muyoh to kill the last boss, follow him around killing waves of mobs.
